This week was interesting but I definitely learned a lot.  After listening to the videos I know  that the majority of decisions being made is based on data.  I'm glad I have started observing and documenting the results of my observations.  I know that before I can present any plan of action for the teacher's that are struggling with behavior and classroom management I have to gather all information to implement a plan.

Educational leaders using Blogs

Educational leaders might use blogs to communicate and to bring other educational leaders and teachers that have similar interest together.  Educational leaders can use blogs for professional support to share news or to inquire information.  Blogs are also great because educational leaders are able to post, report, read comments, quote one another, and to link blogs with one another for a much broader discussion.

Action research

Action research information is gathered and used by the principal to make improvements to better their campus.  With action research it’s more personal and teachers, students, and other administrators are involved in the process in making changes on the campus,  Different types of action research includes university coursework  which allows principals to enroll in courses on campus or online to advance their professional development; superintendent/district meetings which allows principals to gather in small groups to complete tasks that help identify their individual area of study and to inquire their need for professional development; and leadership teams that help share responsibilities, problems, and help in the decision making with the principal.  The benefits of conducting action research are important for the development and improvements on a campus for the benefits of students and staff.  Action research helps gather information for teachers, students, and administrators to help with success and better learning environment.  With action research the goal is to investigate and gather information to inquire.  Once the investigation is complete then that information is used to implement a plan for campus improvement.  The information used in action research could consist of test scores, staff development, evaluations, or observations.  All information gathered using action research is on a personal level which makes it beneficial and helpful in creating a plan of action for the improvement of the campus.
